Over the last three years, the olive harvest has kept me busy over the autumn. While the UK begins to get ready for winter, I make my way over to Sardinia, taking full advantage of the many summer-like days that make an appearance throughout October & November.
High-quality olive oil is liquid gold. It is a generous reward for the enjoyable, yet hardworking days of harvesting the fruits from this elegant tree.
Fossil evidence shows that this ancient tree has its origins dating back to 20-40 million years before being cultivated by humans 7,000 years ago in the Mediterranean basin.
